“I Don’t Know Why You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello!”

Hello family, friends, readers (and Beatles fans who recognize the title of this post!)–

A verse from the Book of Ecclesiastes has been bouncing around in my noggin recently:

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die…a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…a time to blog and a time to stop blogging” (Ok, I made up that last part, but it still fits).

My blogging season has come to an end. It has been a great 3 years at the blog with over 150,000 people checking in and reading. That was way beyond any expectation I had for some niche writings from an ordinary Mormon guy in Albuquerque, NM. I have appreciated all the emails, comments, questions, and words of support these past years. It is now time to move on to new adventures in my life.

Before signing off,  I will leave you with a scripture and a quote:

“I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell” (2 Ne 33:6).

“Mormonism is indeed marrow to my bones, joy to my heart, light to my eyes, music to my ears, and life to my whole being. Thus lit up, I wake to find Jesus leaning over me, smiling wide, with the Book of Mormon snapped like smelling salts beneath my nose” (Adam S. Miller, “Rube Goldberg Machines”).

Of the many titles I may wear throughout my life, I will always treasure my 3 years as the Mormon Nerd.

May the Lord bless you with His love and grace.

Derek

I cannot get to any of the old posts. Does this mean that the whole site is going down or will we be able to get to your posts for a while? I never thought I would need to archive them myself so I haven’t “saved” them… Thanks!

I am wondering the same! I really hope there is a way to access them still.

Sorry friends, but I have taken down all the content. If there is something specific you needed, please email me directly and I could send it along.

Could I get your email please? The link isn’t working for me. I would love to get a copy of the eternal polygamy mythbuster post. Thank you so much!
